Best In Books 2014

I saw this first being done on one of ny favorite YA book blogs annareads.com and it looked really fun so I'm going to do it!!

1) Best book you read in 2014:
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
It was really hard to choose my favorite book of 2014 because it was a really great reading year for me but The Fault in our Stars was the one that really stood out to me.It was just so heart wrenching, beautiful and unlike anything I have ever read before.

2) Book that you were really excited about and thought that you would love more....but didn't.
Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
This series has gotten so much praise in the booktube/book blogging world and I wad excited to finally read it.This book wasn't horrible it just wasn't as amazing as everyone said it was. This book did get me out of my reading slump so I will give it that.

3) Most surprising (in a good way or bad way) book you read in 2014
Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi
As I said before I didn't love Shatter Me so going into it's sequel Unravel Me I didn't have very high hopes. But this book proved me wrong. The plot was so much more gripping and the romance was better played out and this is probably one of my favorite sequels.

4) Book you pushed most people to read (and they did) in 2014
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
This book was my favorite book of 2014 so of course I wanted as much people to read it as possible so I kept waving it in their faces until they read it.

5) Best series you started in 2014
The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare
I FINALLY read this series starting in March and flew through it.I still have not read City of Heavenly Fire but I know I will soon.

6) Favorite new author you discovered this year
Rainbow Rowell (Fangirl,Eleanor and Park)
I read Fangirl,Eleanor and Park and her adult book Landline in 2014 and I loved all three and I am excited to see what comes next.

7)Best book from a genre you don't typically read/was out of your comfort zone.
This Star Won't Go Out by Esther Earl
This is a Non-fiction/memoir and I almost never read these because I usually find them boring but this book was so beautiful and really made me think about my life.

8) Most action-packed/thrilling/unputdownable book of the year
Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi
No explanation needed.Go read this series.

9) Best book that you read in 2014 that you are more likely to read in 2015
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
I have been wanting to re-read this book forever now and it's only a matter of time before I do.

10) Worst book of 2014
Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
Okay so I know I am probably going to get a lot of hate for this but I really didn't enjoy this book. I read Clare' s other series 'The Mortal Instruments' and I really loved it and Clockwork Angel had a lot of hype surrounding it so I thought that I would love it but sadly I found it really slow and boring but I am going to pick up the sequel because I've heard that it gets better.
